Treehouse poetry in motion |
Back in July we reported that Paul Cameron had commissioned Elizabeth Darcy Jones - Britain's very own Tea Poet - to write a special ditty to be performed by new treehouse owners upon completion of their own special 'treehouse dream'. A toast, if you will, for all family and friends who gather to launch this new treetop adventure world, and a blessing from all those who'll be fortunate enough to enjoy it for many years to come.
Well we're pleased to say the poem is now complete and ready to be unveiled to the world:
The Tree House Toast For Treehouse Life Tree House Warming Parties (best chanted out loud with glass in other hand)
Summon up Red Indians and Hiawatha's ghost Rustle up a party let the tree house be your host And put a garland on its door, stroke its rafters, sweep the floor Adventure calls - that much is sure! You've got the tree house life! Your tree house wouldn't dare to boast Or wonder, 'who will use me most?' It leaves it up to us to toast...
'Tree House Life!'
But not content with just the one, Paul then asked Elizabeth to compose a second poem to capture the magic of what we do and sum up all things 'Treehouse Life'.
And so, with a rhyming scheme that really does create an exciting sense of movement and a wonderful use of words, including the obligatory mention of 'tea' - a hallmark of the tea poet's commissions for those who want to spot it - the second poem was born!
Tree House Life
A treehouselife tree house is hard to convey It's a world away from every day Where nature is humming, your pulse begins drumming In time to a beat that's in tune with your feet Where magic and mystery play...
It's the call to a Tree House Life!
A treehouselife tree house is rooted in joy Takes you back to a time when you were a boy To a cavalier feeling you can't help revealing To your grandchildren now as you explain how You pretended you once were Rob Roy! *
Recalling your Tree House Life...
A treehouselife tree house warms everyone's hearts Its atmosphere greater than that of its parts But they help in creating a space that's vibrating While you drink your tea and the children shriek 'weeeee'! Scaling ladders and wooden ramparts...
It's all part of your Tree House Life.
A treehouselife tree house is crafted by hand And sits where it's comfortable - one with the land - Here children start scheming and others start dreaming It's more than a room - it's a living heirloom A place to carve memories and...
Fall in love with your Tree House Life!
