Treehouse Life loves to support trees |
These days there seems to be a special Hallmark moment for just about every person, occasion or event imaginable. A 24-hour period of time set aside every year in which someone or something needs to be thanked, celebrated, pampered, spoiled, recognised or remembered.
At the top of the list (after the rather obvious birthday, Christmas and Valentine's Day) are Mother's Day and Father's Day - a well-deserved day involving copious cups of tea, handmade gifts and soggy toast in bed, for those who've survived yet another year raising their offspring.
But when it comes to thanking family members, you no longer even need to stop there. The gift and greeting card companies have now added a Parent's Day, Grandparent's Day and the all-inclusive Family Day into the mix. For those who really feel like spreading some love there's even a Bosses Day, Teacher's Day and Accountant's Day. Not to mention a Bad Poetry Day, Cabin Fever Day, Cat Herder's Day and Kindness Day. And for those with nothing better to do with their time, the all important No Housework Day and Take Your Dog to Work Day.
So now that every conceivable occasion has been taken take of, it does seem only fair that there should be at least one day in the year to mark the humble tree. And believe it or not, there is. In fact there are 2 whole days dedicated to trees - in Australia at least.
Schools Tree Day on 30th July and National Tree Day held on 1st August are Australia's biggest community tree-planting event. Organised by Planet Ark, both days are intended to help show children how fun and easy it can be to plant more trees and help to save our environment. Last year in Australia over 312 000 people at 3 500 sites across the country all dug deep to do their bit to improve their natural surroundings.
Here at Treehouse Life, although we may not actually spend much time planting new trees, we certainly spend more than our fair share of time looking after the ones that have already grown. We'd even go so far as to say that we'd consider it one of our company's missions to protect and preserve what Mother Nature has taken many years to grow. Why do we care so much? Because although - despite popular misconception - you don't actually need to have a tree to have a treehouse, here at Treehouse Life we do come across rather a lot of them in our line of work.
Unlike certain other treehouse companies out there in the market, at Treehouse Life we always try to put the welfare of the environment before the profit me make from any project. We firmly believe in protecting the trees we use, not damaging, defacing or killing them. So when building any Treehouse Life project we will NEVER fix any of our structures or accessories directly into the tree using screws, nails or bolts. And to prove that our ideals and beliefs aren't just all talk, Treehouse Life even has its very own highly qualified Tree Surgeon on-hand for every project that we undertake - from the smallest treetop dwelling to the most complicated canopy walkway.
We consider our resident 'tree doctor' to be an essential part of the Treehouse Life team, not only because he enables us to take some of our most wild and wacky ideas designs and translate them onto a workable tree-shaped canvas, but also because we can always rely on him to put the trees best interest first.
So regardless of what day of the year it is or where you happen to live, the team here at Treehouse Life would like to encourage everyone to do their bit for the planet, and, if possible, take the time out of their busy lives to maybe plant a tree.
