Treehouse holidays at home

There's certainly not much escaping football at the moment. It's everywhere that you turn, on every TV channel that you watch and in every paper that you open. The world, it's fair to say, has gone World Cup Crazy. Whether you love it or loathe it, the one thing you can't deny is that football, especially when played at this level, does wonders for creating a sense of national pride.

When the English team are doing well, the whole country rallies behind them to lend their support. The air is filled with a great sense of optimism, Union Jack sales are up and wannabe WAGS are busy topping up their fake tans in hopes of snaring themselves a husband.

At Treehouse Life we're certainly all about supporting and encouraging national pride. We believe that it's the glue that holds a country together, in the good times and the bad. It makes you feel proud to be British and reminds you how great this country really is.

To often people focus on the negative - the dodgy politicians, the damp weather, the short-lived summers and the never-ending road works. But this country really does have so much to offer, especially with its rich history, beautiful architecture and stunning Thomas Hardy countryside. And let's not forget all those quaint old pubs full of beams and real ale. Or the wonderful tradition of 'afternoon tea' with its tiny sandwiches, scones and calorie-laden cream.

So having clarified what a wonderful place we actually have on our own front door step, it does seem such a shame that most people never actually make the effort to explore it, let alone make more of their time at home.

With the Internet and budget airlines making traveling easier and cheaper than ever before, the average household now tends to head south for their holidays. Much like a large flock of migrating geese - only paler in colour and with a higher chance of sunburn.

This year might be a little different however, with that pesky, post credit-crunch volcano having already disrupted the airports and those unhappy staff at BA now threatening to finish off the job. So this summer, instead of bringing out your passport, why not stay a little closer to home. Much closer. Like right outside your own backdoor.

Of course we can't promise Mediterranean temperatures or an overgrown mouse with big ears, but a Treehouse Life treehouse is - even if we say so ourselves - special enough to justify staying at home and dealing with the rain. In fact, we'd go so far as to say that our original Paul Cameron designs could defiantly offer enough to keep the whole family entertained for weeks on end.

Interested? Then imagine this.

No tropical resort for Mum this year? Why not build her her very own private treetop paradise, complete with bubbling spa, contemporary outdoor furniture, relaxing music and soft lighting - the perfect way to help her unwind and escape at the end of the day. Faraway that is, from the reality of life down on the ground.

No overpriced amusement parks and wave machines for the kids this year? Why not build them their very own ultimate adventure treetop world. Our unique signature designs can offer as many as 8 different levels of Treehouse magic, with 6 elevations and a range of play benefits such as climbing walls, slides, scramble nets, swings and hammock bridges. And if that's not enough to keep them amused, they can even experience the joy of tree 'surfing' or learn to fly through the air on one of our adrenaline fueled zip wires.

And finally, no sun lounger for Dad to park himself on and fall asleep this year? Why not build him a... hang on, who are we kidding. What Dad doesn't secretly want to experience that exact same ultimate adventure treetop world - somewhere he can recapture his youth and re-live all of his childhood superhero dreams?

If you think all of this sounds completely unrealistic and totally unobtainable, then think again. It's completely possible and actually doesn't take as long to achieve as you might think. And as for the cost? Well, that's really no different to splashing out on that expensive overseas holiday. The only difference between a foreign holiday and living a Treehouse Life is that they'll be no jippy stomachs or heat exhaustions to contend with, no suitcases full of dirty washing to unpack and no overpriced, tacky souvenirs that you'll be forced into buying.

A win-win all round really. And best of all, your 'holiday at home' will still be there to keep everyone amused for many more years to come.
