Treehouse Life has teamed-up with a Green Design-Build company in Indonesia, to create, what we believe to be, the world's first bamboo treehouse!
Whether or not you believe in 'Global Warming', there's no denying our planet needs as much help as possible, to protect it's natural resources and reverse the damage already caused by us heavy-handed humans. Most people these days are already trying to be as 'green' as possible, switching off plasma screens and sorting recyclables into the right bins. But did you know that many of us already have a natural product in our homes, which if further utilised, could make a real difference in the fight against rising oceans and overheated polar bears. Already widely used to make everything from musical instruments and medicine, to bicycles, diesel fuel and fabric, this product has also played an important role in the construction industry, from reinforcing concrete, to building bridges dating back to 960 A.D. and the skyscrapers found in Hong Kong today. In addition to all of this, this product is also a low-calorie source of potassium, which, despite some types of it actually containing cyanide, is still used in numerous Asian dishes and enjoyed by millions of people - and the few remaining pandas - everyday. So what is it? Bamboo of course, the fastest growing known plant on Earth, and capable of growing up to 121 cm in one day, and an incredible 1-meter per hour over short periods of time. A bamboo sapling can in fact grow to it's full potential in just 4 years, unlike a mighty Oak tree which takes at least 50. As well as being an effective erosion control barrier that helps to restore degraded lands, a grove of bamboo can release 35 per cent more oxygen than an equivalent stand of trees, and absorb four times as much carbon. For these reasons, and many more besides, bamboo is the perfect building material for the future. A true eco-friendly superstar, that can really help to reduce our carbon footprint and address the global warming concern. With this in mind, Treehouse Life has teamed-up with a Green Design-Build company in Indonesia, to create, what we believe to be, the world's first bamboo treehouse! We hope that by combining the eco-credentials, adaptability and beauty of bamboo with what we already do, our exciting and exclusive designs will come alive, and offer an even greater element of magic to the treehouse and adventure worlds we create. As with our timber treehouses, we will still offer our adventurous and imaginative designs, which never fail to deliver exactly the right amount of adventure, fantasy, make-believe and fun. The flowing spirals of our design signature in particular - a hexagonal shape for 360-degree elevations and views, and perhaps 9 different levels of tree-canopy decks that wrap around and through the trees - provide a truly exceptional experience, and the very essence of a Treehouse Life. Once again you can be rest assured that the trees in your garden will only ever be used to add to the beauty and natural flow of the design, they will never be attached, nailed or screwed to the structure itself, or damaged in anyway. So what is the best thing about our new and exclusive range of bamboo treehouses? You can now live a Treehouse Life and be safe in the knowledge that you are doing your bit for the environment at the same time. Though just remember, as environmentally efficient as bamboo maybe, it can still only do so much.
