Timber is the raw material for treehouses, we have spent many years resourcing the perfect compliment to our designs. We use timbers with special and particular qualities carefully prepared for the treehouse requirements. We love round wood timbers, they look great and must feel great. But, round wood typically produces air cracks along its length as it stretches and constricts with every change in moisture and temperature. We use timbers produced, graded and managed specifically for our demanding requirements - Tree House Life use Radiata Pine from managed and environment friendly forests in South Africa. Fully FSA approved and bringing with them, each round wood pole is a guarantee not to produce finger sized air cracks. There it is called Monterey Pine, here we call it Southern Yellow Pine, prepared for you in our workshops to always have eased edges and therefore no sharp edges to find. This attention to detail flows through to using an identical preservation to the round timbers and therefore a product that matches throughout completing the natural blend to your garden. The wood is alive with natural colour and shape in the grain making this choice of timbers perfect for a great looking treehouse.

The first fews days of any Tree House Life project is all about getting the design to fit perfectly into your garden. We place the upright round wood timbers, with experience to work in amongst existing trees and foliage to guarantee that when the project is completed the treehouse looks entirely at home and natural, that you are unable to imagine your garden without it and that it flows gracefully with the shapes and dimensions of the space within which it is built. This requires engineering skills, tree surgery skills, courage and experience and a creative instinct; all of which is in abundance with Tree House Life people. We have a very fussy approach to how we staff the carpentry and joinery work throughout our projects. Our resource and requirement are joiners who are specialists in hand made kitchens, bathrooms, bespoke furniture and leading edge design. This skill base of working to perfection in millimeters becomes a joy and pleasure when creating in big space treehouses, the knowledge of how wood comes together and a perfect finish in every detail is a wonderful blend to the efforts we place in design and delivery.
